More bloody notes

Today I'm going to do some more note taking. FUN!!!!

So I'm on the same website I was on before-I did not finish earlier, I only got about halfway through. So now here I am, finishing it in hopefully less than an hour so I can go sledding with my friend at two thirty like I said I would.
So anyhow...
The people who are getting married do not know their future spouse before the wedding, typically. But apparently that is not important. They do SEE each other, so they like SORT OF know each other before the wedding, but they are always accompanied by half of the family. So they know each other, but they do not like really get to know them until after they are married. So if the dude is a bitch that does not seem like a bitch at first, the girl will not know that until they get married. That seems fun. Really fun. For people who are living in faraway places and come home for a while, a wedding is arranged within two weeks. At this point I think that the writer of the essay is either slightly biased or not entirely in touch with what goes on in India, because he is saying that a lot of marriages in India are not technically legal because you have to give valid consent for a marriage to be legal in the Catholic church and you can not give valid consent if you do not know what you are consenting to, and therefore many Indian marriages happening today are invalid. This person seems to think that a lot of Indian people are Catholic. True, many are. But there are still plenty others who are Hindu or whatever the official religion of India is. Anyway, marriages with the consent of the children because the parents of the marrying kids were finding a comprimise between what the kids want and what the parents want and all is well and good. AND the kids give "valid consent". Okay, skipping a couple paragraphs about the scandals of American dating....Okay!!! In India, marriage is like a contract for the woman. She is expected to do everything the guy wishes her to do, and that goes for the family, too. She has no choice for who she is going to marry and even if she falls in love with someone else, her feelings on the matter are not taken into consideration. Well, that's the end of that article. Here's the link: http://berchmans.tripod.com/arrange.html
I'm going to stop my note-taking for today.
IS IT SNOWING AGAIN?!?!?? or is that just the blowoff from the roof and trees? I think it's the blowoff. No, it's actually snowing. I think. Oh well I have to go now. I have to shove practice my forms, and work on something for Girl Scouts.
