I'm here with a lunatic idea (and also a means to procrastinate on my English homework)!
So, as you know, I post daily when I am participating in National Novel Writing Month. And if you don't know this... go back into the backlogs and refresh your memory. It's that little tab over on the right, kind of down a bit.
What you might not know is that the Office of Letters and Light also runs Camp NaNoWriMo, which was started last year and which happens during the summer - this year, it's going on during June and August. I plan on participating, at least during June, because I have a character (Shya) who I really finally need to give a story to, because, honestly, she's been dancing around in my head for four years, waiting to get out onto paper.
Her time has come.
Finally.
Which is where my lunatic (not really) idea stems from, mostly to see whether I am going to actually post more often or not. You never know what might happen in life. (I have no idea where that statement came from).
So, basically, what's going to happen is just what OLL hopes will happen for writers (well, sort of). I write a lot during June, then I get a severe writing cramp from the excess of fiction that is stemming from my pen (yes, I'm doing it by hand... again), and then I post every day about it, like I do in November: the location in the story, the approximate page count, the complaints about writer's cramp... you get the idea.
Yes, I know, it's kind of weird. But I need motivation to write Shya... finally.
In the mean time, before I write Shya, I'm finishing Nemesis. Remember her? She was my first NaNo heroine, if you don't recall. If you do recall, good for you! If you don't... go back into the backlogs and refresh your memory. Directions are in the third paragraph of this post.
Anyway, the only issue I have with this lunatic/ good/ bad/ weird idea (and the only issue that OLL might have with this, considering that they are the providers of all the guilt monkeys) is that... I admit, I've written about 1600 words of Shya's tale already. Does that count as horrible? Probably. It probably counts as cheating as well.
well, last year, I DID cheat... like, a lot. But I'm not really counting last year, because last year... last year, for me, was a complete fail. Like, a COMPLETE fail. I barely wrote at all.
And then I lied about my word count.
I know, I'm a horrible lying person who deserves to be struck down by the heavens. But there you have it. I've come clean about it, and it's over now, so I can't really change it, and it's in the past, so changing it's now physically impossible.
Well, what's done is done.
Now, onward to English homework!
