So I just got back from tae kwon do and I'm PSYCHED about tomorrow. WHY am I psyched about tomorrow? Because TOMORROW is the day that I FINALLY GET MY ALADDIN MUSIC!!!! WOOT!!!!!!!!!! I'm happy. I
I've started to really enjoy piano. Maybe it's because I can actually put it to good use by playing for kids in musicals. Maybe it's because I now have an excuse to play songs from musicals. Maybe it's just summer. Who knows?
Anyway, I get to go to swim practice tomorrow and work my arms off. :(. It's not fun, but tomorrow's the pancake breakfast, so I think practice is somewhat shortened. I HOPE practice is somewhat shortened. Practice is HARD.
I talked to my brother about him giving me supplemental swim lessons, but he said that I probably didn't need it. Apparently, I'm actually overdoing myself-I'm working myself harder than he is and he's STILL doing better than me. For example, in races, I don't breathe for the first lap and then breathe once or twice on the second lap, thus totalling one or two breaths. He normally does like four or five breaths in a meet. I breathe every three or five strokes in practice. He does every other stroke. And this is the guy who's one of the relay record holders! RR!
He also said that I'm slower than everyone else because I haven't been in the water to practice since last season, and that practices have gotten harder. I HOPE that's true. But mind you, I was always really lousy at swimming. I'm not denying it-my brother may be able to swim a fifty breast stroke in 34 seconds, but I am most definitely NOT able to do anything better than a 48. I'm starting to see why a lot of people on the team are surprised when they find out we're related. We're totally different, both in appearance and in our swimming skill. He's brilliant; I'm lousy. Way to go, me! NOT.
