REALLY fast...

okay, this is officially going to be my shortest post, because I have to go upstairs to eat, but whatever.... CLASS FOUR AND FIVE RAPIDS ARE THE FUNNEST THINGS EVER!!! AND YES, I KNOW "FUNNEST" ISN'T TECHNICALLY A WORD, BUT I DON'T CARE!!! But yeah, white water rafting is fun. And mom fell out on a class four, I think. Well, she fell out, anyway. And I jumped off an epically high rock. And I got an epic sunburn on the top of my thighs. Okay, going now.

Sam monologue

Frodo: I can't do this, Sam.
Sam: I know. It’s all wrong. By rights we shouldn’t even be here. But we are. (stands, leans against a wall, looking out into the distance) It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were. And sometimes you didn't want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it’s only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn’t. They kept going, because they were holding on to something.

Another awesome Lord of the Rings monologue. This is from The Two Towers, though, at the very end, when they're in Minias Tirith (I think). It's a rather depressing monologue, but it's rather nice, too. It's another one of those awesome don't-turn-back monologues. Okay I gotta pack now. Bye.

Aragorn monolouge

Hold your ground, hold your ground. Sons of Gondor, of Rohan, my brothers. I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of wolves and shattered shields, when the age of men comes crashing down, but it is not this day. This day we fight! For all that you hold dear on this good Earth, I bid you stand, Men of the West!

This is an Aragorn monologue. And I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously, I think it's like the best monologue ever. It's from "Return of the King," and it's just before the EPIC epic battle, and Aragorn is being all like, don't give up hope, and stuff, and it's amazing. Seriously, whenever people do epic monologues at times like those, I have this mantra going in my head that's like, "Say, 'I bid you stand, Men of the West.' Say 'I bid you stand Men of the West.' SAY IT SAY IT SAY IT!!!!!" Seriously that's what goes on in my head whenever scenes like that occur. Like in the third Pirates of the Caribbean movie (At World's End), when Elizabeth's all like, okay, we have absolutely no chance of winning this thing, and our enemies probably want to beat the s**t out of us, but fight the s**t out of yourselves before they get to it, so I BID YOU STAND MEN OF THE WEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously I wish she'd said that.
Okay going now.

Well...

I'm going to go white water rafting this weekend!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOT!!!! This, of course, means that I will be forced on a five hour car ride to New River, West Virginia beginning at eight tomorrow morning, and arriving back on Monday at one, which of course means that I'm not going to be able to post until then. So, today I'm going to post many song lyrics and pretend it's the Daily Post for those days. And then I might post again for the heck of it. And then I'm going to pack and go to Tae Kwon Do. But first I'm going to pack. And then Tae Kwon Do. And then eat. And then post. Okay, I'm wasting time. I'll go now. And start googling song lyrics and poems and monologues and stuff like that. Okay going now.

yeah.

I love this picture. And I have to go to class now, but I love it and I wanted to post it. It's supposed to be sarcastic, but still. Okay, going now.
By the way, nobody died last night.
And I didn't die, either, in case you were wondering.
And I think this is officially my shortest post.Daniel Radcliffe, Matthew Lewis, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint

I changed my post name!

I changed my post name. So instead of "the Person" posting, "Bereth en Tyuru" is posting. You'll never guess what it means. It's Elvish, and it's the most random thing ever. But try to guess it.

It means "Queen of Cheese".

Epic, right?

It's rather random, but I like it. I like cheese. And I don't care that I'm not a queen, but what the heck. And I most definitely not the queen of cheese, but "Bereth en tyuru" sounds cool. Try it. Seriously. Say it. Be-reth-in-tie-oo-roo. IT'S EPIC!!!!!

Okay I'm done. For now.

Goodbye.

:)

AWESOME!!!!!!

So there's this awesome Lord of the Rings fansite called arwen-undomiel.com. And it's rather awesome. My favorite part about it is the fact that it has an Elvish page, where you can look up Elvish words and stuff. It's rather awesome.
I am going to do something I have never done before: I am going to hyperlink something on the blog. So therefore, the Elvish part of the Arwen site can be found here.
Okay, I'm going to see if it works.
IT WORKS!!!!!
WOOOOT!!!!!!!!
I am going to change my alibi. To my Elvish name. So..........yeah.
Bye.

First day of work today!

Today is my first day of working at the pool. I am kind of nervous because I am a guard this year. It is my first year as a guard, and I am scared that someone is going to go unconscious in the pool and I am going to have to go and save them and I am going to forget what to do once I get them out. And I am scared I am going to forget how to get them out. I HOPE there is another guard on the other stand, and I would have to do is watch everyone else and make sure nobody else dies while the other guard goes in to save the person. That would be the better idea. Because I would probably freak out if that happened. And I hope I do NOT have to blow the whistle on someone who is really obnoxious and will not listen. Swim team is going on today, too, I think. I do not know which stand I want. Which stand should I get? I do not know why I am worried about it. I am going to ask what the deal is when I get there. That is what I am going to do. Even though I am going to be late-I am scheduled to be there at three and I can not get there until four or four thirty. That is part of the reason I am nervous. And I am also nervous because all the other guards are very intimidating. Seriously intimidating. I do NOT want to get on the wrong side of one of the guards. I do not know why I do not want to get on the wrong side of one of the guards. It is just the way I am. I am intimidated by everyone who is older than me until they start being nice to me. And most of the guards are friends of my brother, so he could get really annoyed if I talk to them. Granted, I have absolutely no idea why he would get mad at me (he often bounces between "you need to get a better social life" and "can you not talk to my friends? It is kind of embarrassing.") I do not know why I am freaking out about this, though. It could be because that is just the way I am, but still. It is kind of scary for people to trust you enough to save them if necessary. I do NOT want to mess someone up who needs help. I could get sued. Seriously. If I do not save someone who needs help, I could get sued. If there is nobody else around and someone is unconscious and I have to go and get something and leave them there, I could get sued. I do NOT want to be sued. And I do NOT want to be guilty of killing someone.
And I do not know why I am so intimidated by the guards. The guards are people. The guards are only two or three years older than me. Or one year older than me. But point is, they are older than me. And they are intimidating because almost all of them are taller than me and my brother knows them, so that makes them practically off-limits for anything other than looking at them. I have to go now.
Calm.
You are NOT going to die.
Nobody else is going to die.
Death is not an option right now.
Call 911 if anyone looks like they are about to die.
And DO NOT FREAK OUT ABOUT THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

arena scheduling

Today I get to put down what classes I'm taking in what block. It was really annoying on Tuesday when we actually put down what we wanted our schedule to be, because a lot of the classes are offered only one block, and the ones that are offered multiple blocks were somehow conflicting with the ones that weren't. And it seems to be physically impossible for the schedule people to put a high school class in H block that isn't Geometry. Seriously. And I have to take an 8:20, so I have to go to school an hour earlier than I would have normally. But, on the other hand, I get two free blocks, so that's good. I guess. So what's happening today is I actually go around to the teachers-everyone does this-and we put our name down on the sheet for the block we want. Like I would go to the gym table and put my name down for 8:20, and I'd go to the math table and put my name down for Algebra 2 A block and stuff like that. At first I thought I wasn't allowed to have two free blocks (if I take on an 8:20 I'll have 9 blocks, and I only signed up for 7 classes), so I put down psychology, but then I learned that I was actually allowed to have two free blocks since I was taking an 8:20. So I'm going to cross off psych as soon as I get my sheet. I was very reluctant to take psych in the first place, number one because the human mind is not something I'm interested in (if I can still think, eat, and make parts move, that's all I need to know), and number two because the teacher who does psych also was my history teacher in sixth grade and he HATED me. He teased everyone, but I think he honestly didn't like me. But that could be just me. Either way, we didn't get along, and I don't think he'll like me in high school any more than he did when I was in middle school. He'll probably give me an even harder time. I don't know why he would, because I'm good with myself the way I am, but he apparently isn't. And if he's going to give me a hard time, like I know he will, I'm going to not take his class. And I don't really want to, anyway. So problem solved.
I am bored. I'm going to.....................I don't know what I'm going to do.
Oh, wait, yes I do.
I'm ACTUALLY going to get some reading done in Lord of the Rings, and ACTUALLY find out whether Legolas is a priss or not. THAT is what I will do.
Not yet, though.
I'm going to stay for a while.
I know!
I'm going to do another post!
I don't know what I'm going to talk about, but I'm going to do another post. And it will be awesome. AND YOU WILL ALL COMMENT ON IT BECAUSE I TOLD YOU TO!!!!!!!!!!

my iPod's being stupid. Grr.

Well, I'm at the computer. Listening to music. And it's not my iPod, it's iTunes, because my iPod is being really stupid. It's not charging. And it's frozen on the screen "Connected. Eject before disconnecting." And it still says it's 4:45 p.m. It's currently 8:32. And the computer says it doesn't recognize the USB. This is rather annoying. Oh, well.
Oh, yeah, by the way, all you readers (all...what? three of you?), anyway, you CAN comment on the stories if you want to. PLEASE! Yeas, Nays, what-the-heck-is-this-person-talking-abouts, this-is-completely-stupids, anything. It is all appreciated. And this is by invite only, so nobody's going to see it except those who can read it. Which, so far, isn't a lot. But whatever. The fact that people are paying attention is kind of cool.
And for once, I have minimal homework.
Except for reading "To Kill A Mockingbird."
And reading "Lord of the Rings."
And reading "Cry the Beloved Country."
The first two are pretty decent. Especially "To Kill a Mockingbird," which was a surprise. Required books for English class often end up being really boring. But TKAM is written from the perspective of an eight year old, and it actually SOUNDS like an eight year old, not like some twenty-eight year old trying to sound twenty years younger.
But "Cry the Beloved Country" is just weird. Okay, weird isn't the right word. A better word, or series of words, technically, would be "written like the author was sick when they were learning about quotation marks in fourth grade."
Honestly, whenever someone's talking he puts dashes. And he only does THAT when it's at the paragraph.
For example (this is seriously how he does it):
-Blah blah blah the girl said.
-Blah blah blah her friend said.
The girl glared at her friend. I said it first she said.

Honestly, that's how he does it. It's rather irritating.
And confusing.
But I guess I could get used to it.
I guess.

But there are several things I found out about Lord of the Rings from reading the first half:
  1. The movie messed up the entire beginning. True, the beginning was very slow, but still. They could have kept the scene with the elves. I mean, seriously, it's driving me nuts how much of the first half they left out.
  2. The Council of Elrond doesn't happen until halfway through. Seriously, it's divided into "book one" and "book two." The first chapter in Book Two is Many Meetings, and the next chapter is The Council of Elrond. In the version we have, this is on page 240 ish. Out of about 400. Wow. Just wow. Even I don't do that slow a startup.
  3. Frodo has the MOST EPICALLY AWESOME song/poem thing in the Bar Scene at Bree which ISN'T in the movie, because in the movie, he's just like, "SHUT UP, MERRY AND PIPPIN!!!!" But in the book he's like, "SHUT UP, MERRY AND PIPPIN!!! They're not shutting up...um....TIME FOR ME TO DO A SONG AND DANCE NUMBER!!!!!!!!!! EVERYONE LOOK THIS WAY SO PIPPIN AND MERRY DON'T BLAB FOR THAT SPY GUY DOWN THE STREET TO HEAR!!"
  4. Aragorn is officially THE awesomest character EVER. Gandalf even says that he was THE BEST Ranger. As in, THE BEST. As in, he can kick your sorry butt if he wanted to. And he could do it with executive priveliges and everything. Okay, not exactly. And Gandalf defenitely didn't say the bit about executive priveliges, either. I don't think you find out about Aragorn being king until the Council of Elrond. And I haven't actually read the Council of Elrond scene yet....
  5. Aparrently, Legolas is supposed to be a priss. I don't know that yet, as I haven't read Council of Elrond yet....
  6. And it's NOT Arwen who saves Frodo and runs him off to Rivendell. What ACTUALLY happens is.......I'm not saying. BUT all I will say is that Glorifindel (and I'm not sure whether I spelled that right) loans Frodo his horse. And Glorifindel exists only in the books. So to find out EXACTLY what happens to Frodo in the chapter entitled "Flight to the Ford," you must go off, check out a copy of "Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" from your local library, turn to the chapter entitled "Flight to the Ford" and read through the first few pages of the chapter entitled "Merry Meetings" in order to find out EXACTLY what happened. Because I'm NOT going to tell you.

Okay I have an awesome idea!
I go and READ "The Council of Elrond" and I find out EXACTLY what happens in the Council of Elrond, and find out whether EXACTLY Legolas is a priss or not, and find out EXACTLY whether they mention Aragorn's being royal in the Council of Elrond or not. And then I tell you. But I think that part of the reason that Legolas has won the "miss prissy" award is because whenever they were doing fight scenes in the movies, Orlando Bloom's wig was always perfect, and everyone else's hair (which was actual hair, except for maybe Gimli) was all gross, especially Aragorn's. Because Aragorn is awesome.
So that's my job.
OKAY!!!

life

Well, guess what I found out on Saturday that I was too lazy (and too forgetful) to say until now? I'm getting glasses! I don't have horrible eyesight (20/30 without the glasses. I'm nearsighted), but it is rather annoying when I can't see the board in class and I can't see who's yelling at me from down the hall. So I'm getting glasses. I'm getting two pairs because I'm likely to break/lose one pair, so if I break/lose one pair, I can still use the other pair. It was really annoying because I had to wake up really early (okay, eight in the morning) to go to the eye doctor. And I was up till midnight the night before, so I was kind of tired. It didn't affect the test, but it was still kind of annoying. And then I stayed up till midnight on Saturday night because of the cast party. We were doing like memories and paper plate awards and stuff and my paper plate award, once again, had to do with my knitting. It's getting rather old, everyone giving me paper plate awards to do with knitting. Okay, I think this is only my second, but what the heck. Two is more than enough. I know I knit a lot and a lot of people probably see me and think, "hey! A knitter!" but I wish they'd think that I was something else, too. Like that I'm a black belt or that I cut my hair for Locks of Love or something than that. Just something that didn't make me only a knitter and nothing else. That's what it feels like, anyway. I mean, I love knitting. Knitting is great. But knitting isn't everything to me. People just seem to think that, and it's kind of getting on my nerves. I really, really, REALLY hope that I don't get a knitting paper plate award for the end-of-year chorus picnic thing. Because that would be REALLY depressing. Or rather, I would be depressed for the chorus teacher's Paper Plate creativity. I honestly think that he's more creative than that. I HOPE he's more creative than that. I'm PLANNING on him being more creative than that, because if he's not I'm going to be VERY sad.

Robin Hood Video

Well, I just watched the video of Scene 13 for Robin Hood, and I wasn't entirely happy. It's not entirely my mom's fault, and we did fine. But thing is, the camera was entirely on me during the scene even though I only had to react and I wasn't SUPPOSED to be the center of attention. I know I'm always kind of undecided about that, because sometimes I always wish the camera would be on me and sometimes I wish the camera would be on other people, but I was just sitting there the entire time while Prince John and Queen Eleanor and King Richard were doing their thing, and the camera was on me almost the entire time, which I didn't really like because I didn't get to see what their interactions looked like from the front. That's the big thing, though-sometimes you need to zoom in on someone, but if you do, you'll miss something. That's the part that really bugs me. It's not that I wish that my mom hadn't done the video, it's just I wish she would have not kept the camera on me almost the entire time. That's the part that really bugged me. A few summers ago, when I had a decent part in a musical, it was okay for her to zoom because I had a couple big solos. But I was a TOWNSPERSON who didn't have any lines in this, and the camera was still on me almost the entire time. That's the only thing I didn't like.
