howdy!

Well, I am back from the retreat, and I am currently at school. The retreat was VERY fun, except for the one part where the little part on my glasses that goes over your ear broke off, so I had to go for most of Sunday with only one hinge on the glasses, which was not very fun and kind of unproductive, because they were always crooked or falling off or falling off crooked and stuff. But I had a backup pair at home, and I am wearing those. But the people there were really cool. I thought the kids from the other church would be all snotty because their youth group seemed to be all epically organized from the brochure my mom brought back a few weeks ago, but that was not the case at all. They were all SUPER cool, even the leaders. We had to have prayer buddies, and mine was one of the leaders from the other church. In all, it was really fun. I am going to do a full summary in the next post, when I get the chance to post again.
By the way....
ANGELS AND DEMONS IS THE BEST BOOK EVER!!! (By Dan Brown. Half the research in the beginning is this one scientist trying to make religion and science work together, and it did. HURRAY!)

kind hearts don't grab any glory....

... i don't think so. but that's only me.
and I'm a kid in america, so to speak.

Looking out a dirty old window,
Down below the cars in the city go rushing by,
I sit here alone and I wonder why,
Friday night and everyone's moving.
I can feel the heat but its soothing heading down,
I search for the beat in this dirty town,

Downtown the young ones are going,
Downtown the young ones are growing,

[Chorus:]
We're the kids in America,
We're the kids in America,
Everybody live for the music around,

Bright Lights,
The music gets faster,
Look boy don't check on your watch, Not another glance,
I'm not leaving now honey not a chance,
Hot shot give me no problems,
Much later baby you'll be, saying "never mind,"
You know life is cruel,
Life is never kind,

Kind hearts don't make a new story,
Kind hearts don't grab any glory,

[Chorus:]
We're the kids in America,
We're the kids in America,
Everybody live for the music around,

Come closer honey thats better,
Gotta get a brand new experience feeling right,
Oh, don't try to stop baby hold me tight,
Outside a new day is dawning,
Outside suburbia calling, everywhere,
I don't want to go baby,
New York to East California,
There's a new wave coming, I warn ya,

[Chorus:]
We're the kids in America,
We're the kids in America,
Everybody live for the music around,
We're the kids in America,
we're the kids in America,
Everybody live for the music around,

yeah, i'm on a cascada rant

Wouldn't it be good.

Remember the day
There was a sign
It was the time
To take me away to your arms

I heard your voice you called my name
A single touch
Would stop my pain
I feel like you in everything i do

Wouldn't it be good to be in your shoes
Even if it was for just one day
Wouldn't it be good if we could wish ourselves away

Wouldn't it be good to be on your side
Grasses always greener over there
Wouldn't it be good if we could live without a care

The times passing by
I feel like you
I always do
Youre my place to hide
I don't know why
Still hear your voice
Still feel the same
Single kiss can stop the rain
So close to you in everything i do

Wouldn't it be good to be in your shoes
Even if it was for just one day
Wouldn't it be good if we could wish ourselves away

Wouldn't it be good to be on your side
Grasses always greener over there
Wouldn't it be good if we could live without a care

Wouldn't it be good to be in your shoes
Even if it was for just one day
Wouldn't it be good if we could wish ourselves away

how do you do-cascada

I see you comb your hair and gimme that grin.
It's making me spin now, spinnin' within.
Before I melt like snow, I say Hello -
How do you do!
I love the way you undress now.
Baby begin.
Do your caress, honey, my heart's in a mess.
I love your blue-eyed voice,
like Tiny Tim shines thru.
How do you do!
Well, here we are crackin' jokes in the
corner of our mouths
and I feel like I'm laughing in a dream.
If I was young I could wait outside your school
cos your face is like the cover of a magazine
How do you do, do you do, the things that you do.
No one I know could ever keep up with you.
How do you do!
Did it ever make sense to you to say Bye
Bye Bye?
I see you in that chair with the perfect skin.
Well how have you been, baby, livin' in sin?
Hey, I gotta know, did you say Hello -
How do you do?
Well, here we are spending time in the louder part of town
and it feels like everything's surreal.
When I get old I will wait outside your house
cos your hands have got the power meant to heal.
How do you do, do you do, the things that you do.
No one I know could ever keep up with you.
How do you do!
Did it ever make sense to you to say Bye
Bye Bye?

Ready for Love by Cascada

what I really like about her songs is that they always seem to tell a story or something.

You took a piece of my heart
I never thought that this could fall apart
You said you fell in love
And this was more than I had ever been afraid of
Another life
Another happy ending cuts like a knife
Another place, another time
Another hand to touch, another sun to shine

You got me deeper than deep and I'm constantly blinded
I'm running around but there's no place to hide
I start to talk in my sleep, our souls have divided
Why can't they forgive me these demons inside
Deeper than deep and I'm constantly blinded
My heart starts to shiver for I was letting up
I start to talk in my sleep, cause our souls have divided
How can it be that you're ready for love

Ready for love ...

How can it be that you're ready for love .....

Time will tell
A single day had helped me break this spell
Don't want to be alone
When will I be understood when is my kingdom to come
Another boy, another life
Another happy ending, and I'll be alive
Another place, another time
Another hand to touch, another sun to shine

You got me deeper than deep and I'm constantly blinded
I'm running around but there's no place to hide
I start to talk in my sleep, our souls have divided
Why can't they forgive me these demons inside
Deeper than deep and I'm constantly blinded
My heart starts to shiver for I was letting up
I start to talk in my sleep, cause our souls have divided
How can it be that you're ready for love

How can it be that you're ready for love ...

How can it be that you're ready for love ...

WOOT

So my youth group is going on a youth retreat starting tomorrow. Seeing as I will probably be leaving for the pick-up place right after school, and none of my free blocks are scheduled for tomorrow, I am not going to be able to post tomorrow, or Saturday. But I will probably be able to post on Sunday, depending on how much homework that I have.
FYI.
yay youth retreats!

HOLY CRUD I LOVE THIS SONG!

okay, this is really random, but you know that movie That Thing You Do? Well, I know I'm really weird and all that, but I happen to love it. So these are the lyrics to the title song, because I'm such a geek.

You,
Doing that thing you do,
Breaking my heart into a million pieces,
Like you always do
And you,
Don't mean to be cruel,
You never even knew about the heartache,
I've been going through
Well I try and try to forget you girl,
But it's just so hard to do,
Every time you do that thing you do

I,
Know all the games you play,
And I'm gonna find a way to let you know that,
You'll be mine someday
'Cause we,
Could be happy can't you see,
If you'd only let me be the one to hold you,
And keep you here with me
'Cause I try and try to forget you girl,
But it's just so hard to do,
Every time you do that thing you do

I don't ask a lot girl,
But I know one thing's for sure,
It's the love I haven't got girl,
And I just can't take it anymore

'Cause we,
Could be happy can't you see,
If you'd only let me be the one to hold you,
And keep you here with me
Cause it hurts me so just to see you go,
Around with someone new,
And if I know you you're doin' that thing,
Every day just doin' that thing,
I can't take you doing that thing you do

:P

Well, I found my binder. It was in the Ancient Civilizations room. I went in before I left for home yesterday. This is a VERY good thing. Really. I would seriously die without my binder.
Last night was College Night at the mall, and there were SO MANY FREAKING PEOPLE THERE! It was insane. And there were a TON of colleges. I thought I picked up the brochure for Wesleyan, but I actually got the one for one that was spelled pretty much the same way, but it was in Virginia instead of Connecticut. I don't know why I want to go to Wesleyan, but whatever. I also picked up about a ton of other college brochures, so that the handles of the plastic bag they gave you at the beginning of the night were nearly falling off. I'm not kidding. Anyway, I'm NOT sure AT ALL where I want to go to college. There are SO MANY FREAKING CHOICES!! But my mom DID force me to fill out one of those mailing card thingies for Methodist College, not because she really wants me to go to Methodist, but because she really wants me to get epic loads of spam from colleges two years before I actually have to pay attention to any of it. I have no idea why she is so obsessed with it. Maybe it's because of my brother. He is doing his college apps now. So she might want me to start paying attention now so it will be less of a hassle later. I really don't want to. It is really annoying.

life and a MISSING BINDER!!!! AAAAAH!!

I have lost my binder, and that is NOT a good thing. It has all the essential things I need to survive more than a week at school, including the key to not failing math this quarter. Okay, not FAIL fail. But definitely not get an A. So I am kind of freaking out right now. It's been missing since yesterday, when I actually started needing it this week, because we had a three day weekend. So now I can't find it. It's not at school. It's not at home. I have no idea where it could be, but until I find it, I am at risk of not getting straight A's this quarter. This would be the first time I got straight A's in one quarter since fifth grade. So this is kind of essential to my survival at school.
And it's not cool that I can not find it. But I really have no idea where it could be, so my math grade is at stake. Okay, not really all that much, but still. I don't WANT to get all A's and one B AGAIN, which is the closest I've ever gotten to straight A's since fifth grade. I had all A's and one B for the first semester of seventh grade. But that's the closest thing I've ever gotten to straight A's since elementary school. That's sad.
So I have to get my binder back, because I don't want to give up getting straight A's when there are only three weeks until the end of the quarter.
This is NOT COOL!
I hate myself for losing it. And I don't want to get another binder, because it would be a huge hassle to have to move everything all the time and stuff.
I'm gonna go look for it.

well....

I have a free block for the rest of the day. It is most awesome. Ancient Civilizations got canceled, and I already had two scheduled free blocks, so here I am. YAY FREE PERIODS!
Anyway, I want to adopt a dog. I don't remember if I've already said that, but whatever. I'm saying it again. I WANT TO ADOPT A DOG!! The most annoying thing is that my dad is being somewhat of a prat about it. If we do get a dog, he's going to let the dog out into the back so it can go do its business, which is all well and good, but he's going to make me wake up early and pick UP the poop and take the dog for a walk, all because he's being a wimp and doesn't want to pick up poop, so he's going to make me do it. Way to go, dad. But, of course, pretty much the only way for me to convince him to consider letting me get a dog was for him to do none of the work except opening the door and have me do the rest. Whoop de doo. Great.
The end.

holy.......!

My brain is numb. I just finished the PSAT, and it was NOT FUN!!! (you'd feel like this, too, if you'd just spent almost three hours straight looking at a piece of paper and trying to remember whether the people are using proper grammar or not).
So that's why we get a forty-minute lunch and a late/ short E block. My English teacher says we're going to do something somewhat relaxing during her class, but I don't know. It might be nice, it might not. Some people's idea of "fun" is some other people's idea of "more stress on top of everything else I have to deal with."
Anyway, we're going to College Night at the mall tonight. I do not know what college I want to go to, I really don't. I know I'm supposed to, but on the other hand, I still have a few years until I actually have think about applying to college and stuff.
I can only wonder how much my brain is going to hurt after the ACTUAL SAT. I'm probably going to fail it. I probably failed the PSAT. And the PSAT doesn't even count for anything. In my head, "PSAT" now stands for "Pretty Stressful- A** test". :P
Gotta go. Some sixth grader is playing with my yarn without asking. Going to go beat him up.
Wait, no, he's done now.
I'm leaving anyway.

halloween!

We put up our Halloween decorations yesterday, and I named all of them (gravestones not included). We now have this running joke that the skeleton hanging on the porch is my ex boyfriend. His name is Rufus. And the ghosts are Tim, Sally, and Bono. I don't know why I decided to call him Bono. The skulls are Joe and Maurice, and Johnny and Charlotte are the spiders.
I have no idea why I decided to name all the decorations, in case you were wondering. I'm just weird like that. It was fun, though.
We need to make new gravestones, though. We made the ones we currently have out of cardboard when I was about six, and they're really bad and always falling over and stuff. We've taped unbent coat hangers to the back as the stakes. I forget what we were using before, but it didn't work, whatever we had. I'm pretty sure the coat hangers are a fairly recent addition, however. And, of course, we don't have any of the spider webs anymore, because we donated them all to the middle school play in eighth grade. It was "Boys and Ghouls," and it was set in a dark castle type place, and we had a plethora of fake spider webs with leaves and plastic spiders and stuff still attached, so it all worked with the decor.
I was the only eighth grader in that show. All the rest were seventh graders. I think it was because the person who did the casting put in all her friends, and she was a seventh grader. Maybe it was because I was the only eighth grader who actually auditioned. The funny thing was, though, that even though we auditioned in like September, we didn't actually start rehearsing until May, and the show didn't go up until the first week in June or something, and even then it was during the week, because we couldn't get the black box any time else, because a ton of other stuff had already been booked in there for the three weekends we had left in the school year.
So that's my story.
I'm going now.
