ookayy...

So I was just reading a blog by a guy knitter, and he had TWO lists of "100 things about me." So, just for the sake of it, I'm going to do a list of "As Many Things About Me As I Can List."

18. I like almost every kind of ice cream.
19. I don't like ice cream that has nuts in it.
20. If it's food and you put it in front of me, I'll probably eat it, unless it's a guinea pig or fish guts or fish eggs or something.
21. If I had to pick one friend to apologize to, it would be my friend from 5th grade that I had a falling out with.
22. I don't like broccoli.
23. My favorite kind of ice cream would either be Moose Tracks or Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough.
24. I speak elvish.

45. I would have continued with violin, I was just too busy.
46. I like being in the music department.
47. Before last summer, I had never worn a pair of heels.
48. That's not counting the whole Mommy's-Closet-Dress-Up phase.
49. I'm one of the shortest people in my family.
50. I haven't lied so far in this list.
51. However, I have lied to get out of stuff like black belt tests I'm not ready for.
52. I am somewhat intimidated by my brother.
53. I am somewhat intimidated by my mother.
54. I am in no way, shape, or form intimidated by my father.

66. I sometimes wonder why people get trashed when their parents are away.
67. That's why I don't.

86. The dye's washed out now in both cases.

prompt of the day

Take the last line of a favorite poem, and put it as the first line of your own poem-Still I Rise (Maya Angelou.)

Still I rise
But wait, I'm not rising anymore
I died.

The end. I'm not in the best of moods, as you can probably tell. I'm hungry and somewhat tired and not ready for life. AND on Thursday's the Progressive Dinner for Swim Team and we all have assigned dates and the guys have to ask the girls and I still haven't been asked yet. At the swim meet, people said that my date was going to be one of my friends who's kind of a nerd (okay, a lot of a nerd, nerdier than me, even) but I asked him whether he was going and he said that he wasn't. This is kind of irritating. Oh, well. Life is life. I just hope I don't get anyone idiotic, like one of the 13-14's. That would be awkward as well as annoying because I'm not IN the 13-14's anymore. I'm still curious who's supposed to ask me, though, because I know that nobody's going to ask me out anyway, so it would be kind of amusing to see who's supposed to ask me. Last night, at the swim meet, one of the guys went up over the loudspeaker and asked his date.

back

Okay, I wrote the other one, however, I don't feel like typing it up. So, I'm going to write a response to a really quick one-12 things to do when there's no power.
1. knit. 2. sing. 3. crochet. 4. read the newspaper. 5. read a book. 6. make up awesome lists. 7. write a story. 8. do a sudoku. 9. talk to whoever's around. 10. recite the gettysburg address. 11. learn a language from the book. 12. write in a journal. The end.
That was easy. It took me all of about two minutes to do. Seriously. Well, what now? I have to go to a swim meet soon. We're technically supposed to be there by now, but that is for warm ups and I never go to meet warm ups because they wear me out too much. So I'm hanging out here. Woot!
Okay I'm going to go now.
Bye.

random...

Okay, so I thought, since I like writing, I'm going to post as many responses to writing prompts as I can-at least once a day. I have to leave soon, but just to remind myself, this is my writing prompt for today (in me-speak, by the way):
Rewrite the ending of "Cinderella" with the plot twist that one of the stepsisters fits into the slipper. Note the reaction of the Prince, the Fairy Godmother, and Cinderella. Proceed.

Okay, I really have to go now. But I'm getting my prompts from here.

exhausted

I'm exhausted. I just got back from kayaking, and I know one thing for sure-I am NEVER going to survive Palmico. Seriously. My venture crew is going sea kayaking in Palmico Sound in the first week of August and I'm going to die. I'm not kidding. It's ridiculous how much I'm going to die. But the thing is, Mom's already paid the six hundred bucks for all the crap that we need, so I can't turn back. I'm just going to have to work on it. I guess. Like I'm ever going to be able to do very well. I have NO technique and NO way to do well. I'm probably not going to do well. At all. Well, that's a given. I'm not kidding. It's crazy how bad I am. It's embarassing almost. I bet I'm the only person whose arms hurt by the end of the first hour. And those things are so cramped because we have to sit in them a certain way so our legs press up against the thigh pads, which gets really annoying and uncomfortable after a few hours. We were out there from 8:30 to 3:00, with only one short break. I'm so dead.
Well, last night was pretty fun. We rented movies and I bought some ice cream and I was alone for most of the night because my parents AND my brother were at the Lobster Feast. My brother was guarding and my parents were attendees. For once, I wasn't completely and utterly uncomfortable being alone. Well, not until I was done watching both movies and it was like ten thirty and it was all quiet and kind of eerie. And my arms really hurt right now. By the way. Just thought you ought to know. Like, I keep having to backspace and retype stuff because my fingers are so tired. They shouldn't be tired, but since my arms are tired, my fingers are tired. Oh, well. And I kind of have a headache. Mom just brought me some milk, and I kind of feel better now. At least I have some actual PROTIEN now. And some FLUIDS. Fluids are nice. I didn't get to do any water drinking during the entire afternoon because we were doing wet exits and the water bottle would have kept falling out. Anyway, we have a venture crew meeting about Palmico soon. I have to go.

i changed my name again...

yes, strange but true, I decided to change my Blogger Identity. Again. So first I was "The Person" and then I was "Bereth en Tyuru" and now I'm "Weiro Writer Writing." So...yeah. I jut thought I'd point that out. Okay I'm going now. I'll be back later today. Probably.

anyway...

So I was thinking...if I had to tell people what my best resource was for writing stories, I would most definitely say my mother's laptop or pen and paper because that's where all my stories are-in a notebook or saved on my mom's laptop. But if I had to get more specific, like in terms of websites and stuff, I would have to say either Seventh Sanctum or Serendipity. They're both generator websites, but I really like Serendipity's "Plot Twist Generator" and all the name and location ones on both. I got most of the names for the stories I've posted here from one of the Seventh Sanctum generators, actually. I can't remember which one, though. Anyway, if you want to check them out, here are the links (I finally figured out how to hyperlink on here! yay!):
Seventh Sanctum is here and Serendipity is here.
Okay that's all for now, I guess.

a bit of a story

So I have this habit of writing random bits of stories. Like, they have the same characters and stuff, but, chronologically, I'm not at the point where the bit should go, if that makes sense. As in, in the last story post Shyasha is about to beat up Telsiel, but I've already written a bit of The Epic Kill-All Battle that goes near the end. So, for want of something better to post, here it is. Yes, The Epic Kill-All Battle That is Supposed to be at the End. It was inspired by the battle for Minias Tirith in Lord of the Rings: the Return of the King. I always think there should either be knitting needles or female warriors involved in those epic battles, you know? Just to break up the conventional battle. Anyway, here it is. It's in either Norasona, Lira, or some other city that I have yet to make people encounter.

“Faug!” Shyasha yelled between swings of her sword and dodging arrows shot from the orcs below.
“What?” Faug yelled back from the alley behind her.
“Go find your brother’s stash of knitting needles! I need them!”
Hyan, who was throwing spells right and left at the orcs that had mounted the wall, heard the hybrid’s odd request. “I hate to break it to break it to you, Shya,” he hollered over the cries of the dying orcs. “But we’re sort of kind of not really in the middle of a WAR here!”
“I know!” Shyasha screamed at him. “Trust me on this!”
“And how exactly are Valin’s knitting needles going to help?” Faug demanded. “I don’t think they’re exactly the best material for shooting people!”
“Yes, but they don’t know that!” Shyasha told him.
“Your point being what?” Faug demanded.
“If it’s sharp, pointy, and colorful, the orcs will flee!”
“How in the name of magic did you work that one out?” Hyan wondered.
“You saw them on the road!” she said. “As soon as one of them saw Valin’s needles he said something in their weird language and then they all ran away!”
“Those were URUK-HAI, Shya!” Hyan bellowed.
“What’s the difference? They’re big, ugly, and have weapons!”
“The Uruk-hai are bigger, uglier, and have weirder weapons!” Hyan explained. “You should KNOW that!”
“I always get them mixed up!”
“And,” Hyan added as an afterthought, “The Uruk-hai aren’t color blind.”
“Oh, great,” Shyasha muttered. “That’s helpful.”

And that's it. yay randomness!

OH YEAH!

AND if you want a really awesome site for Lord of the Rings awesomeness, I know TWO!
One is Arwen-Undomiel, named after, well...three guesses who (if you said Arwen Undomiel, Arwen Evenstar, or that Arwen chick from Lord of the Rings, you're right. And it counts if you said "that ranger dude's girlfriend"). The other one is Council of Elrond. I like CoE better, but I found Arwen first.
The CoE link can be found here and Arwen-Undomiel can be found here. Enjoy! :)

OKAY! UPDATE!

Well, now I finally get to do a real live update! WOOT!
This is Bereth en Tyuru reporting live from The Living Room. Here on the scene we have Tyuru's brother who is NOT going to come because he's too busy getting food and I'm too lazy to actually interview him. Not that I'd want to or anything. Well, I got my music on Monday. It's rather hard, but it's okay. I have about an hour and a half every morning between swim practice and catching the bus to practice. It's really fun to play some of them, even though some of the songs are kind of hard. There are all of SEVEN parts of "Arabian Nights" plus TWO reprises. FUN!
But, on the other hand, life is okay. I'm not dying in swim practice anymore, for one thing. Yesterday, though, there weren't a whole ton of people there-enough for me to get a lane to myself half time and the other half share with my friend's brother and then my brother's friend. I was surprised I was able to stay ahead of both of them for as long as I did-my brother's friend is an A-meeter (at least I think she is. Either way, she's really fast), and during sprints I was swimming breaststroke and she was doing freestyle and even though I already had a head start I still finished before her. Breast stroke is slower than freestyle, so that's why it was surprising. Anyhoo, I'm going to go take a shower now, so I can catch the bus and not be late.

Part #7 of Shya/ Valin/ Faug

It was true, he thought. Akalu had quite liked the boy, actually, before he decided to cut off something that was good for him. It was a rare thing to find that kind of love in that measure anymore, and that boy had completely killed the chance that he had.
The meal was very quiet at the beginning, and the only really productive thing that happened was that they agreed that the council would be at noon the next day.
“Walk with me,” Telsiel said to Shyasha when they both were done.
Shyasha glared at him for a moment and then rose.
“What?” she demanded as soon as they were out of the hall.
“I have something to tell you,” he began. “And it’s rather important.”
“Spit it out,” Shyasha ordered, with all the authority of a princess, even one who has tried to live it down for four and a half thousand years.
“This way,” Telsiel said.
“Why?” Shyasha demanded.
“I want it to be private,” Telsiel told her shortly.
“If this is about what happened-” Shyasha threatened.
“No, it’s not that,” Telsiel said hurriedly. “I just don’t want people to hear.”
“Why?” Shyasha repeated.
“Just because.”
Shyasha gave him a doubtful scowl and then consented to follow him down the hall, not entirely trusting him. When they had reached a place where Telsiel was certain that they wouldn’t be overheard (having taken several turns and gone down two staircases), he finally turned and said, “I have part of it.”
“Part of the Crystal?”
“Yes.”
“Why is this supposed to be private?”
“Because I didn’t want anybody to know about it.”
“And yet you’re telling me.”
“Yes.”
“Where is it?” Shyasha posed the question as abruptly as possible, keeping her face and voice as impassive and expressionless as possible.
“Why do you want to know?” Telsiel’s voice was suspicious all of a sudden.
“This is something really, really serious. And after what happened, do you honestly expect me to just trust you right off the bat?”
“Yes.”
“What gives you the impression that I would just trust you without verification?”
“Because you’re a girl.”
“I’m a girl, yes, but I’m not an idiot. If you have it, where is it?”
“Promise you won’t tell.”
“I can’t promise that. This entire mission is supposed to be about getting the pieces and destroying them, not keeping secrets and telling lies and getting power. You either have it or you don’t, and if you do, I’d like to see it.”
“Why? So you can have it for yourself?”
“No, so I can take it to the council tomorrow so we can decide what to do with it. Now, give it.”
“Why should I?”
“Telsiel, do you WANT me to hurt you?”
“No.”
“You have it. I can tell. It’s powerful, and it’s got dark magic in it. Sonru wants it back, and he wants to gain power and followers. That’s why he made the Crystal. And he gave part to you, and it’s gotten a hold of you, I can tell.”
“How can you tell?” They began circling each other, like two lions about to kill each other.
“You’re acting really weird. You’re darker. You’re expressionless at best. Ad your eyes aren’t the color they’re supposed to be.”
“What do you mean?”
“Your eyes used to be light blue, not black. And you’re more secretive and forcibly polite. It’s disturbing.”
“Very good.”
“Give it.”
“No. It’s mine. Sonru gave it to me. He told me not to give it to anyone else.”
“What else did he tell you?”
“He said I was one of the most powerful rulers in the world and I was going to be more powerful with the Crystal. He said I was the strongest person out there, that I would be utterly invincible with the Crystal.”
“Telsiel, you jerkface. Can’t you see he was lying? Couldn’t you tell he was just flattering you into accepting it? He was actually saying how powerful you are, so therefore he wanted you under his control so he could gain control the Three Cities.”
“No, he wasn’t.”
“Telsiel, where are the refugees?”
“Gone,” Telsiel laughed.
“Sonru has got them, hasn’t he?”
“Yes, he has. And they’re not coming back.”
“Yes, they are. You’re an idiot if I ever saw one, Telsiel. Now, give over the crystal, or else I’m going to have to hurt you.”
“You can’t hurt me.”
“What makes you say that? I was a top student in Ranger training while blind. I was taught by the top Ranger master, too. I’m better than you think.”
“Stop bragging.”
“I will if you hand the freaking crystal bit.”
“NO!”

I haven't been able to work on that one for a while. So...yeah. That's where I am right now in that one.
